Ferdinand the Fox Stuffed Animal
(Completely handmade from repurposed textiles, from body to inside materials)
Meet Ferdinand the Fox, he is the antagonist in our book: "The Tale of Ophelia the Opossum."
The Ferdinand the Fox stuffed animal comes plush deep redish fabrics. Each one is one of a kind and comes fluffy and ready to cuddle! Each Ferdinand the Fox is made to order, and is a surprise in a box! Ferdinand is always button eyed, has a big fluffy tail and has spindly legs ready to flop around!
Each Ferdinand is handmade by the author and takes 2-3 weeks to ship. Since each is one of a kind, slight variations in materials and button-eye shapes may occur.
Note from the Author/Toymaker:
The Ferdinand stuffed animal pattern is my own creation, and it’s an extension of my art! Ferdinand's pattern is made to order each time, so each one is different to the next. I source all of my materials secondhand to encourage young ones to see that there’s always a way to repurpose something. Each stuffed animal comes with a tag that I encourage parents to read with their children, explaining how Ferdinand was made.
*Please note that children under the age of 4 years should play with supervision*

Follow Ophelia as she navigates a series of challenges, discovering more about herself, others, and life lessons along the way!
What will children learn from 'The Tale of Ophelia the Opossum'?
In The Tale of Ophelia the Opossum, children will learn about turning trash into treasures, embracing their shyness, listening to their intuition, and understanding the importance of respecting others' belongings.
How long is 'The Tale of Ophelia the Opossum'?
The Tale of Ophelia the Opossum is 72 pages long and divided into four chapters. As a mini chapter book, it aims to encourage young readers to explore longer stories, teaching them how to read extended conversations, think critically, and enjoy storytelling. Parents can support their children’s reading progress by enjoying one chapter together each day. This routine builds excitement for the next part of the story, improves their focus, and gets them ready for fun trips to the library! (And yes, each page is fully illustrated!)
A note from the author and illustrator:
This book is a complete collaboration between us, author and artist Taylor Alexandria Hayden and Naida Joy Harrell. We worked side by side to art-direct the world of "The Woodlands," where the story unfolds. Each page is filled with artwork thoughtfully designed to draw young readers into the world of Grimm's Toys. Each book is signed and numbered by both author and illustrator. This is Book 1 in the mini-series: Grimm's Toys: The Woodlands. (So stay tuned for more!)
